General Info

Tucked along the waterfront area of Port Dalhousie, 416 Coffee Co. (Port Dalhousie) at 17 Lock St Unit 116, St. Catharines, ON L2N 5B6, Canada is the kind of coffee shop that quietly becomes part of your daily routine. The moment you walk in, the space feels welcoming and relaxed. The cozy interior, soft chatter, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee immediately create the type of atmosphere people look for when exploring local cafés and casual restaurant spots in St. Catharines.

One thing that stands out about this location is how comfortable and accessible it feels for everyone. The wheelchair accessible entrance makes the café easy to visit, while the layout inside allows guests to settle in without feeling crowded. Whether you're stopping in for a quick bite before a walk along the harbor or planning to spend an hour catching up with friends, the environment feels thoughtfully designed for both short visits and longer stays.

Of course, coffee is the real centerpiece of the menu. The drinks here are crafted with care, and you can tell that attention goes into every cup. Instead of overwhelming choices, you get a selection that pairs perfectly with coffee and fits naturally into a morning stop or an afternoon break. It feels less like a rushed takeaway counter and more like a small neighborhood restaurant where people linger a little longer.

Another feature that many visitors appreciate is the Wi-Fi, which makes it a comfortable place to work remotely or answer a few emails. During my visit, I noticed several people using laptops while others chatted over coffee. That balance of productivity and relaxation gives the café a community feel that many modern coffee shops aim for but don’t always achieve.

What customers say?

“ Honestly one of the best coffee I’ve ever had!! Drove about 45 minutes to get here and try the highly recommended coffee place and definitely was worth it! We got a Carmel latte, and ice Carmel espresso! The staff was super nice and friendly in helping us decide what to order. ”

“ We were so glad to have found this absolute gem! It’s easy to miss if you’re on the run, but once you’ve visited, it’s hard to forget. We loved our conversation with Nick, he’s such a sweet and genuine soul. The beans are locally roasted and the syrups are made in house. We loved the cold brew with honey cinnamon syrup as well the Cortado! It’s such a lovely father-son enterprise, and after our visit we felt so happy and energized because of the exceptional service. I hope more people support this local business and get to experience what we did :) ”

“ What a lovely coffee gem! Super friendly staff and delicious lattes. We got their seasonal peach cobbler latte on the first day we were in town and went back for seconds the next day! Even more amazing is that they do all their syrups in-house and are a local roaster. Highly recommend if you get the chance to be in the area. ”

“ Wonderful place to stop by in a tiny but lively food hall. Definitely one of the top coffee shops in the area due to their homemade strips, creative drinks, and great service. The main menu is on the ceiling and the seasonal menu is on the door. Ordered an oatmeal raisin cookie along with our drinks and it was perfectly baked while still maintaining a bit of a nutty bite. Highly recommend this place for the coffee and the vibes. ”

“ I just bought an expresso machine, called earlier and spoke to Carm who has been roasting for 20+ years, super knowledgeable guy. After talking to him I knew I had to have his beans! Visited the Port Dalhousie location, Kayla was lovely, patient and well informed on expresso coffee as well as the different types etc. I bought the College Street beans (which she ground fresh) after trying 2 varieties. Which since I lived so close to College street most of my life felt right! Highly recommend! ”

“ Wow! Just got here from California and searched up the best copy in the area. No doubt 100% the best copy. Amazing cappuccino. Latte in a iced coffee. All of it off the charge fantastic. The barista Kaela crafted the perfect beverages for the California crew. thank you karmin for a great start of our Canada vacation. Will be back again for sure. ”

“ I've been coming here since I moved her 5 years ago, and I believe they have the best coffee in St. Catherines. When I'm getting coffee to go and walk on the beach, I always come here. When I feel like sitting down to enjoy it though, I tend to choose a different option in PD, as they have very limited food and seating. But, if you are serious about your coffee, this is your place. ”
